Having not eaten meat for 30+ years the well intentioned concern of protein deficiency has arisen more than once. The elimination of meat from my diet had such a profundity of wonderful benifits that I never paid much attention to these concerns.
One day out of curiosity I decided to Google dietary protein requirements
. The DRI (Dietary Reference Intake)
recommendation turned out to be 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, or 0.36 grams per pound. Further Googling led to lean muscle weight as the basis of the calculation. Given this, I substituted "lean muscle weight" with a proper BMI (Body Mass Index)
weight. Basing the calculation on my top BMI wieght of 196 pounds my daily minimum protein requirement is about 72 grams of protein per day. The older one gets the more protein one needs over the minimum.Naked Casein

provides 15 grams of protein for 90 calories but more importantly provides a much needed 8 grams of dietary fiber to an otherwise fiberless all dairy protein mix.
With these three I manage a daily breakfast of 120+ grams of protein per day and the results have been stunning. The profundity of wonderful benifits rivals those experienced when I gave up eating meat.
